Nashville, TN, provides affordable urban living.

Nashville, TN, is a vibrant, affordable city with a thriving music and entertainment scene that attracts people worldwide. Despite its affordability, the city has experienced a rise in housing prices due to its high population growth. However, Nashville remains a popular destination for those seeking an affordable yet vibrant city. The state is one of the few in the US that does not tax wages, allowing residents to keep more of their income. Overall, Nashville offers a unique blend of affordability, culture, and opportunity, making it an appealing destination for those seeking a vibrant urban experience.

Discover the state's cultural heritage and learn about the indigenous communities that once called Tennessee home. Gain a deeper understanding of the pivotal role that the state played during the Civil War era and how it has evolved into the modern, vibrant state we know today. Whether you're a history buff or just looking to learn more about Tennessee, the State Museum is an essential destination for anyone interested in this fascinating state.

Tennessee House Advances Bill

The Tennessee House has unanimously approved legislation requiring schools to determine the cause of a fire alarm being triggered before instructing children to leave a classroom. This move comes in response to the Nashville elementary school shooting, where a shooter killed six people, including three children, last year. The fire alarm was triggered by smoke from the shooter's weapon, but some students and teachers were unaware of the situation. This confusion led to the death of third grader William Kinney, who was the first to collide with the shooter in a hallway while helping students out of the classroom. The Republican-dominant Legislature has rebuffed calls to enforce stricter gun control measures in response to the shooting, instead focusing on improving school safety resources, including reevaluating protocols surrounding fire alarms.
